WOMEN’S DIVISION.

PROVINCIAL COUNCIL MEETING. At the quarterly meeting of the Wairarapa Provincial Council of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, held in the Rest Room Masterton, Mrs: /C. C. Jackson presided and there were also present Mesdames Arch Clark, Boy Burch, E. H. Dagg, W. A. Tate, R. W. Beu, Alex Donald, Albert Donald, Bead, Allen, F. Anderson, L. Meredith, W. Willis, J. M. Laing, R. McGovern, F. Wrigley, D. James, Shanden, G. Hart, F. Farquhar, S. G. Grant, G. Smith, J. Coe, and Hodder, Misses N. Renall, E. Langdon and J. Mackenzie (ttion. secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Wiggins, B. Matthews, Dodson, Aslin, Holmes, and Miss Holmes.

Mrs. S. Fletcher, a member of the Wairarapa Hospital Board, attended and addressed the meeting on hospital representation. It was decided to hold a monster bazaar, in Masterton on June 7 to provide funds for the work of the Division, each branch to provide goods, etc., for every stall and those appointed by branches acting as stall holders. It was agreed to hold an inter-pro-vincial conference in Masterton at a future date.

A deputation from the Farmers’ Union waited on the meeting, to discuss holding a farmers’ picnic at Solway Showgrounds on March 30, when it is hoped a representative gathering will be both instructive and enjoyable, a further meeting to be held to-day to complete plans.
