MASTERTON SALE.

The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report that there was a large attendance at their Masterton sale yesterday. The quality of the fat sheep offered was good and in consequence prices moved up a little. Dairy cattle were much about the same as last week and all lines were disposed of. There was good competition for pigs and prices advanced: —The yarding comprised 289 fat sheep, 65 head of cattle and 46 pigs. Prices were as follows: — Sheep: Prime down wethers, 29/-; light wethers 24/6 to 26/-; heavy maiden ewes 27/- to 28/-; fat ewes, 20/-, 22/- to 23/9; fat hoggets, 20/- to 20/7; 2-th. wethers, 21/9. Cattle: Good springing heifers, £3 10/- to £4; later calves £2/10/- to £3 5/-J good springing cows, £3, £3/10/-, £3/15/- to £4; cows just calved, £3 to £3/10/-; cows due later, £l/5/-, £1 10/-, £2 to £2/10/-; forward cows ex dairy £l/3/-, £l/10/-, £l/15/- to £1 17/-.
Pigs: Slips, 20/- to 21/-; good weaners 17/6, 18/- to 18/6; small weaners, 15/- to 16/-; sow to farrow £6/10/-.
