FLOOD DISASTER
ON BORDER OF MANCHURIA AND KOREA. ESTIMATE OF FIVE THOUSAND CASUALTIES. YALU RU'ER RISES TWENTY FEET. (Received Monday, 7 p.m.) KOBE, August 20. Heavy rains on the ManchuriaKorean border resulted in the Yalu. River rising twenty feet, destroying many villages and threatening the city of Antung. The railway headquarters despatched relief parties from Darien, removing the population of the stricken area. The casualties are estimated at five thousand and seven hundred houses were destroyed.
