GIRL GUIDES.

MASTERTON DISTRICT ANNUAL MEETING. ELECTION of officers. The ninth annual meeting of the Masterton District Girl Guides’ Association was held yesterday afteronon m the Municipal Social Hall. Mrs T. Jordan, District Commissioner, presided over a large attendance, which included Miss Wolters, Divisional Commissioner; Mrs Riddiford, District Commissioner for Featherston and Martinborough; Miss Telford, District Commissioner, Carterton; Mrs Morgan, Brown Owl, Petone; and Guiders from leatherston. Apologies were received from Mesdames H. B. Tomlinson, J. C. Forsyth, E. J. Rich and J. Caselberg. Mrs Jordan welcomed the visitors and friends.

The following company committees were elected: Tararua Company:— President, Mrs J. T. Jameson; secretary and treasurer, Mrs J. L. Hair; committee, Mesdames Corskie, Coleman, Burling, Briscoe and Jones. Weraiti Company: President, Mrs N. H. Prior; secretary and treasurer, Mrs F. Judd; committee, Mesdames Thomas, Gaskin, Robb, Andrew. Devonport and Edwards.

The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs H. B. Tomlinson; vice-presidents, Mesdames H. G’. Moser, W. H. Jackson, R. F. R. Beetham, D. M. Graham, W. (SavillSmith, A. Caselberg, J. Caselberg, J. Mcßae, H. T. Wood, W. D. Horne and Dr. Helen Cowie; vice-chairwoman, Mrs W. James; committee, delegates from Tararua Company, Mesdames Coleman and Briscoe; delegates from Weraiti Company, Mesdames Thomas and Judd; Mesdames F. E. J. Ractliffe, E. J. Rich, G. H. Hill, J. C. Forsyth, W. James and Miss M. Cameron; dele'gate to Wellington Provincial meetings, Mrs. H. H. Dawson; District Caiptain, Miss N. Ractliffe.

Mrs Morgan, Brown Owl, from Petone, who was introduced by Mrs Jordan, gave a very interesting and enjoyable address on Brownie work. She was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

Afternoon tea was provided by the committee.
