Mrs. Webb has been in Wellington for a few days. Misses Gilpin and Halliday, Wellington, and Mr. C. Bollard spent the week-end - at ; Mrs. A. D„ McLeod ’» home, Mangapari. Miss Alyson Webb returned last week from Marton. Miss Lenore McKay spent the weekend in Carterton. Mr. Ron Ussher leaves on August 1 for the Argentine and - he is making the voyage in charge of a consignment of sheep for Valparaiso. Deep-sympathy is- felt for Mr. Dunn (who has for several years managed Mr. Spooner’s property Ngawaha), in the loss of his wife, which occurred at Wellington last week. Mrs. Dunn had been in. ill-health fitir some months' and her death followed- on an operation. During her residence in the district, Mrs. Diinn had endeared herself to a large -circle of friends. She was a member of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union. Miss. Flemming,, of Seddon, Marlborough; arrives in Martinborough this week,, when she will be the guest of Mr»; A. ,D.. McLeod. Miss Nell. Brown, Masterton, was the guest-of Mrs. Connal’ during, the weekend. Mfs. Ward, Mrs. R. Burch, Mrs. Par-sons-and Miss N. Holmes were visitors to - Wellington for the W.DJ’.U.
