ROAD RECONSTRUCTION.
* K / BULLSTURAKINA The secretary of the Automobile Association, Wairarapa, has received word that the Bulls-Turakina Highway is now open for traffic, the reconstruction on the Turakina end being finished. The road, however, will be dosed again between Pukepapa Road and Bulls for five weeks from Monday, June 25 and all traffic will have to detour at the cross-roads in the centre of Bulls township to the South Makirikiri Road and return to the main road by the Heaton Park Road. All corners on the detour will be sign-posted and although there are one or two side roads which lead baek to the main road before the Heaton Park Road, the sign-posted detour is the shortest. The road, of course, will not be closed at the Bulls township but motorists who do not detour by the main route will have to either return or detour at Hardy’s Rond, which is not recommended for traffic. Motorists travelling north will not find the road properly barricaded at the Heaton Park Road, as reconstruction work is some miles ahead and the road has to be kept open for local traffic, but they should follow the detour sign at that place.
