CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held last night, the retiring president, Mr. D. A. Pickering presiding. The following officers were elected unopposed:—Chief, Mr. T. S. Arcus; president, Mr. A. G. Corskie; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs A. Donald, J. W. Colquhoun; directors, Messrs C. A. Burling, J. W. Henderson, M. Gt Mackay, D. McLachlan,' J. J. Hunter, W. E. Knott, G. Malmo, W. J. Campbell, G. Milne, T. V. Caverhill, J. A. Kerslake, I. D. Cameron, P. C. McLaren, B. L. Larson, Dr. J. C. Forsyth; past-presi-dent, in accordance with the rules, Mr. D. A. Pickering, as past-president, becomes a member of the board ex officio. Mr. J. J. Hunter was appointed treasurer and Mr. F. M. Cunningham auditor.

Appreciation was expressed of the work of the ladies’ committee, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed, a record to be placed in the minutes. It was decided that the directors meet on Thursday, May 10 to discuss the social activities of the society for the coming season.

The retiring directors were accorded a vote of thanks for their services during the year. Special reference was made by Mr. Corskie to the splendid work of the retiring president, Mr. Pickering, who was deserving of special thanks for his services on behalf of the society.
