man and wife in hospital. SEVERE INJURIES. AUCKLAND, August 30. Early this morning a doctor 1 called to a house in Grange Road, Mount Eden, found John Shaw Gordon (68) with n wound in his throat, and his wife, Nellie Gordon (65), suffering from severe head injuries. Both were taken to hospital. It was reported at noon that the wife is expected to recover. The man’s condition is critical. The injuries to the couplet are believed to have been inflicted with a razor and a hammer.—(P.A.)
