CENTRAL BANK.

FARMERS URGED TO WATCH BILL. PALMERSTON N., August 29. To watch, very carefully the proposed Central Bank Bill, was the advice given to Tiakitahuna Dairy Comrpanv* suppliers at their annual meeting yesterday by Mr. A. E. Mansiord (secretary). He pointed out that invariably it was those in control of the currency who controlled a country. Recently Canada had rejected such a Bill, and if it was not wanted there, then how necessary was it for New Zealand? While New Zealand was not around the corner yet, maybe the corner had been reached, and such a time was one of exceedingly great danger because of the tendency to take up a don’t care attitude. If farmers, after mature thought, decided that they did not want a central bank, they should see that steps were taken to tell the authorities so.
