WRIGHT STEPHENSON & CO., LTD. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We offered a fair yarding of sheep at Masterton yesterday. There was a very good enquiry for all classes of sheep, and our entry, which comprised breeding ewes, sold at good values. We had a total clearance as •under: A/c. x Craigiclea’ syr. ewes 6/2, 4- ewes 9/-, 4-th. ewes 11/4; a/c. “ Awapiripiri ” 2-th. ewes 9/6, 4 and 6-th ewes, 9/1 Of a/c. other vendors, 5- ewes, 8/6; 4 and 5-yr. ewes, 6/to 7/6; cull ewes, 3/6 to 4/6. N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE. The Now Zealand Loan and -Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having submitted an entry of• 420 sheep to a .good attendance of buyers. Prices were on a par with recent sales, b.f. lambs being in keen demand. A particularly good line of 320 fat and forward b.f. lambs sold on account of Mr. H. T. Hume realised 9/8. Small 2-th. ewes made 8/10. DALGETY & CO. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having had a good yarding of sheep at the Masterton sale yesterday. There was a good attendance of buyers, and fairly keen competition was in evidence. The following prices were realised:—A/c. Wardell Estate: 70 4-th. ewes, 8/10; 58 2-th. ewes, 10/9; a/c. C. H. Vallance, 154 4-yr. ewes 9/I', 150 5-yr. ewes 6/9, 126 do. 6/9, 50 4-yr. ewes 7/- 50 5-yr. ewes 5/10; a/c. lan Balfour 150 4 and 5-yr. ewes r.w. S.D. rams 6/4, 44 do., 4/6, 33 4 and 6*th. ewes 6/1; a/c. D. Bennett 100 1 s.m. ewes 6/8; a/c. M. B. Dagg 60 do., 3/1; a/c. L. G. Feild 140 wether lambs 8/9, 64 ewe lambs 8/6, 54 do. 7/-, 53 wether lambs 5/10. F.C.D. COMPANY LTD. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their weekly sale as follows: Our yarding consisted of 2,457 sheep, 35 cattle and 107 pigs, which were offered to a large attendance. Competition for lambs was particularly keen, and we have to report a good sale in this section. Store wethers also sold well, and. breeding ewes, of which we had very few, were easier. Cattle sold at late rates. Weaner pigs, of which we had a large entry, were considerably easier, but the vendors met the market. Following were the prices:— Fat sheep: Fat wethers, 11/- to 12/-; fat ewes, 6/- to 6/6; fat lambs, It)/- to 11/6. Store sheep: 5-yr. ewes, 6/- to 7/-; aged ewes, 4/6, 4/8 to 5/1; 2-th. ewes 10/-, 10/1 to 12/-; small do., 6/8, 7/6 to 9/-; 2-th. wethers 317 at 10/3, 109 at 9/6, 205 at 9/-, 91 at 9/-; other small lots 8/-, 9/3 to 9/4. Lambs: Good w.f. lambs a/c. Misses M. and E. Heckler, 9/-; do. a/c. Mrs Bourke 8/9; good b.f. lambs a/c. H. J. Carson 9/6; other b.f. lambs 6/8, 7/7/7, 8/1 to 8/8; small do. 3/-, 4/- to 5/-; medium w.f. lambs 5/-, 5/6, 6/to 7/-.
