BREAKING AND ENTERING.
YOUNG MAN BEFORE, COURT.
Charles Edward Thomas, aged 23 years, appeared on remand in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Messrs E. G. Eton and A. Rippon, J,’s.P., on a charge of breaking and entering the Tea Kiosk in the Masterton Park last Sunday night and stealing a small clock valued at 15s.
At first Thomas pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering, but guilty to stealing the clock, but after the Benchhad explained the nature of the charge and read the section of the Act relating to same, the accused pleaded guilty to the full charge, with the qualification that he did not use a tomahawk to gain entrance to the premises. He was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence. '
Charged with breaking and entering the shop of Enoch Jorgensen, 118 Russell Terrace, Wellington, on March 7 ® tea^n & tobacco and cigarettes, an attache case, and copper to a total value of £6 ss, Thomas was remanded to appear at Wellington on March 17.
