WARM WELCOME.
VICTOR SMITH REACHES CAPETOWN. RECORD REALLY BROKEN. CAPETOWN, March 14. A huge crowd welcomed Victor Smith on his landing at the Capetown airport. The Administrator, claiming a record, pointed out that Smith crossed the Cape borders with ten hours in hand over the record. Smith said that he passed through four tornadoes, and time after time the aeroplane went into a spin. Owing to a terrific head wind he was forced to land. Luckily he saw a tent on the salt pan. The owner was a New Zealander, named D'avis, who befriended him. Otherwise he might have wandered for days.
