One of the supporting items in the current programme at the Cosy Theatre is an interesting picture of the Third Cricket’ Test—England v. Australia. This includes slow-motion studies of leg-theory bowling. At a njeeting of the directors of Messrs Kempthorne Prosser and Co. yesterday afternoon a dividend at the rate of 4 per cent, was recommended, making 7| per cent, for the year, reports a Dunedin Press Association message.
The senior and' kindergarten departments of the St. Matthew's Sunday School will hold their annual picnic in the Masterton Park this afternoon. Complete arrangements have , been made to ensure the success of the gathering and all who attend are assurred of a very enjoyable afternoon's entertainment.
“Some Impressions of the Work and Status of Women Abroad" is the subject of an address to be delivered by Mrs M. Cleghorn 8.A., Principal of St. Matthew's Collegiate School, at the monthly meeting of the League of Mothers in the Parish Hall on Wednesday next at 2,30 p.m. A fine collection of valuable trophies won by Pipe-Major Murdo McKenzie, of Masterton, at Caledonian gatherings is on view in one of Mr. J. Bradbury’s windows, Queen Street. Included in the collection are the handsome shield for the New Zealand Piping Championslqjp, the Inverness gold medal and the £lOO Waipa Cup.
