OIL CONCESSION.
STATEMENT BY PERSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER. GOVERNMENT DETERMINED TO PROTECT RIGHTS. CASE TO BE PRESENTED TO LEAGUE. LONDON, December 16. ’’The Times” Teheran correspondent says that the Foreign Minister, Farnighi Khan, during a debate on the cancellation of the D’Arcy oil concession, outlined the Persian case in the form in which it is likely to be presented to ■ the League. He said that Persia’s sole intention in cancellation was to protect her own rights and interests for which there was no proper provision in the concession, because it was given by a corrupt Persian regime. The Government had immediately intimated its willingness to conclude a new concession, but the interference of the British Government had prevented the beginning of negotiations with tne company. He owned that the oil company should benefit equitably, but so must the Persian nation which only demanded its rights.
