TOWN VERSUS COUNTRY AT WELLINGTON. DEMPSTER MAKES DOUBLE CENTURY. WELLINGTON, December 15. The Town v. Country cricket match ended in a draw. In reply to Country’s total of 435, Town to-day responded with 364. J. Newman, Nelson, a lefthander, bowled so ably that five wickets were down for 104, but Dempster then stepped into the breach and played a masterly innings for 207, which included 33 boundary strokes. His was the last wicket to fall. Newinau put up an outstanding bowling performance, sending down 47 overs, 14 of which were maidens, for five wickets and 86 runs.
