The boxing championship of the Wairarapa High School was decided yesterday when Long beat Lamb and later defeated Chesterman. Mr. J. V. Dolan was the referee.

Paying a tribute to Sir Charles Statham, an old boy of the school, at the Otago High School break-up yesterday, the Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) said there was no man in any part of the British Empire, including the Old Country, occupying the extremely difficult and delicate position of Chairman of the House who carried out his duty with greater dignity and with greater efficiency than did Sir Charles. —(P.A.)
