HELP FOR FARMERS.
SUBSIDY ON SUPERPHOSPHATE TO CONTINUE. GOVERNMENT'S DECISION. WELLINGTON, July 4. After going fully and comprehensively into the matter, the Government has decided to continue the superphosphate subsidy for another year at the same rate, stated the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. C. B. Macmillan). As the result of discussions with the manufacturers, the selling price of 44/46- per cent, superphosphate has been reduced from £4 2s 6d to £4 per ton for cash, free on rail from the works in the North Island. It is also the basis of South Island prices.—(P.A.)
