ENJOYABLE PARTY.
BRIDGE AND 500 EVENING.
The first of a series of efforts that are being made to raise funds for the Charity Ball on August 10, took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. Jameson, Lansdowne, last evening. There was a very large attendance and the function, which took the form of a bridge and 500’ party, proved most enjoyable and successful. A delightful supper was provided and the following ladies' committee was responsible for the organisation of the party. Mes- ■ James J. Jameson, C. H. Hanley, J. Kcrslake, K. Gaynor and Miss Stempa. The prize-winners were: Bridge, ladies, Miss Dawson, men, Mr. Fairbrother; 500, ladies, Miss E. Wickens, men Mr. Mcikle. The very satisfactory sum of £l3 13s 6d was realised and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. and Mrs. Jameson for the use of their beautiful home.
