[ “WICKED” TO-NIGHT. Stark human drama is promised in the Fox drama, “Wicked,” which , /opens at the Cosy Theatre to-night, . with Elissa Landi in the starring role. Miss Landi is seen in the part of a , young wife, who on her honeymoon finds her hopes and happiness go on the rocks when she learns that her husband is a, notorious bank robber. , She sees him die from a pursuing de- ; teetive’s bullet and later finds herself in prison convicted of being his accomplice. The State grants her a short reprieve so that her baby may be born beyond prison walls, and then takes it from her. Her efforts to regain her child later make, it is stated, ' for some of the finest screen drama that has been seen. Gifted with perfect screen diction, a haunting voice always in accord with her emotions, a pair of most expressive eyes and a knowledge of every trick in the ritual of drama, Miss Landi gives a performance which is described as nothing short of superb. Victor McLaglen, in the leading male role, gains unending praise for his intelligent handling of a difficult part, as do Una Merkel, Allan Dinehart and Theodore Von Eltz. Allan Dwan directed.
