The Earl of E’gniont, whose death was announced yesterday, and his son, aged 18, had lived simply at Avon Castle since they arrived from their Calgary ranch in 1929. The Earl became a market gardener. He drove his produce to the nearest markets and sold it for cash. He kept several outdoor hands, but no indoor servants, father and son doing their own housework in a mansion of 43 rooms.
