SEAPLANE MISSING.
OVERDUE ON FLIGHT TO DARWIN. DEPARTURE FROM KOEPANG ON SUNDAY. AIRMAN BOUND FROM CHINA TO AUSTRALIA. (Received Tuesday, 7.20 p.m.) KOEPANG, May 17. A Junkers flying boat left Koepang at midnight on Sunday for Darwin, since when it has not been reported in the Timor Sea. The authorities are investigating by radio. A Darwin message reports that anxiety is felt there for the safety of the Junkers seaplane, which is much overdue. The pilot of the overdue seaplane is a German airman, Hans Bertram, flying from Hongkong to Australia.
