Seized and flung into a room by an intruder who slammed the door behind her, an 18-year-old girl had a. nasty experience when she entered her home this afternoon. The girl came home to find the occupants of the house, 95 Roxburgh Street, absent but she heard a noise in one of the rooms and believing it was one of her friends and fellow boarders, called out but received no reply. She went to the room, from which she believed the noise came end opening the door was seized by the throat and arm by a man, who dragged her into' another room and flung her into it. He then slammed the door. Prior to the girl’s arrival on the scene the men, it is believed there were two of them, searched the 1 house end ransacked every cupboard. They neglected all kinds of jewellery, although a quantity of easily removable booty and watches were available and were apparently seeking money only. Their total haul, it is stated, was 15s in silver.—(P.A.)
