DAIRY PRODUCE.
APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT INSPECTOR. DUTIES AT LONDON. ■ WELLINGTON, July 13. Owing to the pressure of work, and the necessity of retaining the standard of quality, the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. A. J. Murdoch) announces the appointment of Mr E. E. C. Wood, dairy produce grader, of Auckland, as assistant inspector of New Zealand dairy produce at London. The Minister stated to-day that Mr. Wood was a first-class officer, and would give excellent service in his new capacity. A number of experimental shipments had been sent Home from the Dairy Research Institute, and part of Mr. Wood’s new duties would be to examine such lines, as well as ordinary commercial consignments. The Minister considered that the experience Mr. Wood would gain in the United Kingdom would be invaluable on his return to New Zealand.—(P.A.)
