PREMIER v. GOVERNOR.

DOMINIONS OFFICE RULING. ISSUE IN N.S.W. PUBLIC ANXIOUSLY AWAITING DECISION. Unitea press Association. —By Electric Telegraun.—Copyright. (Received This Day, 0.1 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 13. The people of New South Wales are anxiously waiting the Dominions Office ruling in regard to the Governor’s refusal to allow the Lang Government to swamp the Legislative Council with Labour appointees. The consensus of opinion is, according to the Press, that the Dominions Office will decine to interfere. Some of Mr. Lang's Ministers share this view, which is strengthened by a private cablegram received from the Agent-General, Mr. Willis. A report is current that Mr. Lang contemplated another quarrel with the Upper House. He is known to be preparing a measure reducing the higher salaries of public officers to a £5OO maximum. Members of the Upper House have already described the measure as impossible and have no alternative but tO' throw it out, as it is powerless to amend it.
