INDOOR BOWLS.
CONTESTS FOR- CHALLENGE SHIELD. Games played in the competition for the challenge shield at indoor bowls have resulted as follows: Perfect, Hancock, Blanch, Gibson (s) beat Baring, Drummond, Gordon, Kilgour (s); Shearer, Buckley, Lucas, Dyer (s) beat Pinkney, Bridge, G. H. Bell, Scrivener (s); McCullough, Davis, C. Bell, Rowlands (s) beat Pedersen, C. H. Bell, Rolph, O’Connor (s). Intending members are asked to join up immediately, so that arrangements can be made for entering players in the Shield competition before it is too far advanced. Application for membership can be made at the Foresters’ Lodge room on Tuesday and Thursday nights, or with the secretary, G. L. Scrivener. The teams to meet this week will be:—Tuesday night: Rowlands (s), McCullough, C. Bell v. Neilsen (s), Reid, Spackman, Barnes, at 8.30 p.m.; Finlayson (s), Sharman, Walker, Vincent v. O’Connor (s), Pedersen, A. C. Bell, Rolph. On Thursday night: Scrivener (s), Pinkney, Bridge, G. H. Bell will play Kilgour (s), Barry, Drummond, and Gordon. Gib'son (s), Perfect, Hancock, Blanch, will meet Dyer (s), Shearer, Buckley, Lucas. ’ It is intended to hold a pairs championship at the conclusion of the present tourney, which will conclude about July 23.
