“A LADY’S MORALS.” & PAUL T. CULLEN. Romance, drama, music and spectacle are all blended in the advent of a brilliant new personality to the talking screen, in the person of Grace Moore, famous American soprano and Metropolitan star. In her first Metro-Gbldwyn-Mayer picture, 11 A. Lady’s Morals/’ a romance based on the life of Jenny Lind, and now playing at thd Cosy Theatre, for two days, twice daily, she literally brings to life one of the greatest characters in the history of music, and through her tells one of the worlds sweetest love stories. Miss Moore is a gorgeous new screen personality, and her glorious voice is heard in the new picture, in music that is an integral part of the drama, and ranges from florid coloratura opera arias to the simple “Lonely Hour” written by Miss Carrier Jacobs Bond. As the Swedish opera star, Miss Moore is seen in dramatic triumphs, an intense scene being that in which she loses her voice following a strenuous rendition of the “Casta Diva” from the opera “Korina. ” Reginald Denny -plays the part of the composer—lover, who knows he is doomed to blindness, sacrifices himself on the altar of his loved one’s career. Walla.ee Beery plays the part of F. T. Barnum who presented Jenny Lind io New York. The supporting programme includes Paul T. Cullen who will play “Il Trovatore” for an overture and will sing and play “Swingin’ in a Hammock. Box plans are at Vare 's or ring Theatre after 6.30 p.m. COMMENCING ON WEDNESDAY. “BRIDE OF THE REGIMENT.” The brilliant, all-Technicolour comic opera, “Bride of the Regiment,” will open on Wednesday at the Cosy Theatre, for two days, twice daily. The First National picture is said to be one of the most beautiful ever filmed from the standpoint of photography and background. The story is laid about 1830 on the Italian border during the Austro-Italiau war. It relates the adventures' of a single night in Count Beltrami's castle during which the countess is threatened by an Austrian colonel, “Bride of the Regiment,” is filled, with comedy situations enacted by a notable cast of players. Vivienne Segal and Allan Prior, stars of the musical stage, appear in leading roles and there is a notable supporting company. Eleven song numbers are heard in the Vita-phone operetta. Box plans open to-morrow at Vare’s.
