WHEAT DUTIES.
REDUCTION IN GERMANY. EFFECT ELSEWHERE. (Received Sunday, 5.5 p.m.) VANCOUVER, May 1. The German reduction of the duty on imported wheat is expected to improve shipments from here, which dropped from seven million bushels to two millions in the past two years. i A HUGE DEAL. PURCHASE FROM PRIVATE TRADE INTERESTS. (Received Saturday, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 1. The Minneapolis and Minnesota Farmers’ National Grain Corporation, as agency of the Farm Board in a transaction involving' 18,000,000 dollars, has accepted delivery of 23,147,000 bushels of wheat from, private grain trade interests. The purchase represents wheat which the Farmers’ Corporation contracted to take for the Farm Board from private companies under May and futures contracts and gave the Farm Board control of practically all stored wheat in Minneapolis and the St. Paul district.
