SPORTS POSTPONED.
MASTERTON CLUB’S EASTER FIXTURE ’ The Masterton Amateur Atlileti,e Club’s sports gathering, which was to have been held on Memorial Park on Saturday last, wa-s postponed on account of the unfavourable weather. The meeting, however, will be held at Memorial Park next Saturday. In view of the fact that the Friendly Societies’ annual seven-a-sido Rugby tourney will ba held at Carterton on Saturday, the football tourney, which was to have been held in conjunction with the sports, has been postponed until a later date. SUCCESSFUL DANCE. There was a large attendance at a most successful and enjoyable dance, held in the Municipal Social Hall on Saturday night by the Mastertoil Amateur Athletic Club. Mr. J. Henderson was an efficient M.C. Excellent music was supplied by the Savoy Orpheans orchestra while extras were played by Mr. T. 1 oung. The supper arrangements were in the hands of a capable ladies’ committee headed by Mrs J. V. Dolan. NIKE AHA CLUB’S GATHERING GATHERING. A party of Masterton athletes competed with a fair measure of success at the Nireaha Amateur Athletic Club's ■annual meeting, held at the Nireaha Domain yesterday. Following are the results of the events in which Masterton competitors were placed: 100 yards ladies: Miss Moore, 1; Miss Pickering, 2; Miss Veuner, 3. 75 yards ladies’: Miss Pickering, 1; Miss Moore, 3. 220 yards: C. Hausmann, 1; L. Hack, 2. L. Xlaek won the half mile and was third in the one mile.
