PERSONAL.

Mr. and Mrs B. Finlayson, of Lincoln Road, celebrated their silver wedding on Friday. A family gathering was held in the evening at which a most enjoyable time was spent. Mr. and Mrs Finlayson were the recipients of hearty congratulations.

’•Mr. T. Young, who has been on the staff of the Masterton branch of the Bank of New South Wales for some years, has received word of his transfer to the bank’s Wellington branch. Mr. Young expects to take up his new duties at the beginning of next week. The death took place yesterday at Dalefield of Nathly Pearl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Alfred Smith. The late Miss Smith had not been in good health for some months past. The funeral will leave the resi’denee, Jervois Road, Dalefield, to-morrow afternoon at 1 o’clock for the Clareville Cemetery.

A very pleasant evening was spent at the residence of Mrs W. Wilson, Carrington, Carterton, on Friday evening in honour of the coming of age of her daughter, Margaret. The evening was spent in dancing and games and proved very pleasant. The dance music was played by Miss Wilson and Mr. Miller, both of Carrington. Miss Wilson was the recipient of many beautiful presents.

The death occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs Connor, Lansdowne, M'asterton, on Thursday of Mrs Pru'dence Dockery, relict of the late Mr. John Dockery, one of Greytown’s earliest settlers. The late Mrs Dockery, who was 81 years of age, resided in Greytown for over 59 years,! and only after the death of her husband, in recent years, went tq' live with her daughter. There is a family of sous and daughters including Mr. David Dockery, of Greytown, The funeral took place at Greytown yesteiWav.
