MAKING GOOD PROGRESS.
DUCHESS OF YORK AND HER DAUGHTER. NAMES TO BE DISCUSSED WITH KING & QUEEN. DUKE GOES TO BALMORAL. RUGBY, August 25. Indication of the excellent progress which the Duchess of York and. the infant Princess are making is afforded to-day by the information that the Duke of York, who motored from Glamls to Balmoral early last evening, is expected to stay at Balmoral until Friday. It is understood that while at Balmoral he will discuss with the King and Queen the names to be given to the new Princess, and that in all probability the date and place of the christening ceremony will also be fixed. When he returns to Glamis the Duke will immediately register the birth of his daughter with the registrar, who is also the local postmaster and proprietor of a general store. When the Queen goes to Glamis to see the Duchess it is understood Her Majesty will take the Princess Elizabeth back to Balmoral with her. Sir Henry Simon, the Duchess’s physician, who left Glamis Castle to-day for a day’s grouse shooting with the Earl of Strathmore, will start to-morrow on a few days’ motor tour. REPLY TO NEW ZEALAND WOMEN In answer to the message sent by Lady Bledisloe on behalf of the women of New Zealand in connection with the birth of a daughter to the Duke and Duchess of York, Her Excellency has received from His Royal Highness the following cable:—“The Duchess and I are very grateful to the women of New Zealand for their kind congratulations. —Albert.”
