QUEOTION OF SALARIES A recommendation that the Gas salary be increased to £575 per annum (inclush c of a car allowance) such increase to take effect as from August 21, 1929, was made to the Masterton Borough Council at its monthly meeting last night. Referring to this matter Councillor A. D. Low (chairman of the Ges Oommi ttee) said his committee was not unanimous. The Mayor, Mr. T. Jordon, moved that the clause in the cxjmmitee’s report recommending the increase be deleted and a special meeting of the council held to consider the salaries of all the senior officers of theone in relation tn the other. The motion was seconded by Oouncillor W. H. Raunders and carried.
