AUSTRALIAN TEAM’S TOUR. DRAW WITH FEILDING. FEILDING, August 7. The Australian Hockey Team played a drawn game, two all, against the Feilding representatives to-day. Twelve hours' rain had made the ground practically a sheet of water and scientific play was largely out of the question. Feilding, being the stronger hitter, had an advance on the ground. In the opening stages, Feilding strongly attacked and within minutes Anderson goaled. Australia at once rallied and reached the circle, but offside play allowed Feilding to dear. Play was fairly even for some time till Feilding made another strong attack which almost brought off a second goal, but the spell ended with Feilding leading, 1/0. The second spell opened with the Australians attacking till A. Packer, with a great run, relieved. Hudson (Australia) was slightly injured and retired. Nettleton taking his place. Australia attacked again, Lee goaling and waking the scores level. Australia made another strong charge and almost succeeded in adding another goal. Feeding resumed control and Anderson shot his second goal for Feilding, which again led, 2/1. The Australians attacked and soon Nettleton shot a goal making the scores even. Desperate efforts by the Australians to add a winning goal were unsuccessful and the game ended two all. The Australian, who were given a civic reception on arrival, left to-night for Thames.—'(P.A.)
