SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS.

(“The Age” Special.) A large shed on the property of Mr. W. C. Snell, on the Soldier Settlement at Ahiaruhe, was completely destroyed by fire yesterday morning. The building contained a motor car on which there was an insurance of £l5O, about 12 tons* of hay insured for £4O, and a milking plant insured for £2OO. The building was insured for £250. Mr. and Mrs. Snell were out in the ear in the afternoon and on their return put the car in the shed and closed the door. They had no occasion to visit the shed again, but when they got up yesterday morning at 6.30 they found that it had been completely destroyed. Euchre Tourney. The prize-winners at St. Mary's Church Committee's euchre tournament on Tuesday evening were: Ladies, Mrs. B. Challis 1, Mrs. H. Nielsen 2; men, Mr. G. Jaquiery 1, Mr. E. R. Wilkins 2. Mr. J. A. Dudson was the winner of the lucky prize. The prizes wete donated by Mrs. J. Catt, Mrs. W. Wright and Mr. J. O'Connor.
