BUILDING SOCIETIES.
WORKMEN’S FRIEND NO. 1. DIRECTORS MEET. The monthly meeting of directors of Workmen ’a Friend Building No. 1 was held last evening, E. Winzenbcrg presiding, there being also present Messrs F. J. Hunn, I. Jenkins. T. B. Braggins, W. Kemp, B. E Jones, and Mr. W. H. Jackson tendered an apology for absence. Correspondence was considered, the financial statement received and routine business transacted. At an extraordinary general meeting of the society an appropriation £3OO *>y ballot was held, the successful number being 64, representing shares held by Mr. J. Mauneell, who was declared to be entitled to the appropriation. NO. 2 SOCIETY. The monthly meeting of the Workmen’s Friend No. 2 Building Society was held after No. 1 Society, the same directors being present. *he financial report was considered aatiafaatory and routine business transacted/ The transfer of one share was submitted and approved. An application for five new shares was submitted and duly allotted. The secretary reported that there were still some share® available for new or present members. The secretary also stated that an appropriation bf £4OO had been placed on deposit in the Public Trust office.
'Hie reports of the Valuation Committee upon securities offered for two Appropriations were rendered.
