WEDDING.

JANSEN—PREDDY. A pretty wedding was celebrated at the Carterton Methodist Chureh yesterday afternoon, the contracting parties being Pearl Elizabeth, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Freddy, of Oarterton, and Frank, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Jansen, of Clareville. The church was attractively decorated by young lady friends of the bride and the service was choral, the bride being a choir member. Miss M. Stevens presided at the organ. The bride, who wan given away by her father, was daintily attired in ivory crepe-de-chine, trimmed with radium silver lace and georgette, with diamante buckle, end shoes and stockings to tone. She also wore the customary veil and orange blossoms and carried a beautiful bouquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Phyllis Jansen (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Joyce Jones (cousin of the bride). Miss Jansen was attired in turquoise blue, trimmed with radium lace and georgette, with shoes and stockings to tone. She also wore a headband of gold leaves, with blue and pink forget-me-nots, and carried a bouquet. Little Miss Jones was dressed daintily in shell pink crepe-de-chine, with frills and pink satin trimmings and shoes and stockings to match. She also carried a Victorian posy. Mr. Oswald Jansen was best man. The Bev. R. J. Liddell officiated. The bridegroom’s present to ths bride was a fox fur and to the bridesmaids a xylonite clock and a string of 4 pearls respectively. The bride's gift Jj to the bridegroom was a leather suit — case. A reception was held later, the bride’s mother receiving the guests in a costume of navy blue and the bridegroom’s mother was dressed in black. The young couple left by the afternoon express on their honeymoon tour, the bride’s travelling costume being of lavender pink, with hat to match. Their future home will be in the Dannevirks district. •

Mr. and Mrs. Jansen were the recipients of many useful presents, and at a parcel evening in honour of the bride on Saturday, the Methodist Choir presented her with a clock, the Sunday School a silver teapot, and her Sunday School class a set of fireside companions.
