THANKSGIVING CONCERT.

ARRANGEMENTS BY MUNICIPAL BAND. OPERA HOUSE ON SUNDAY EVENING. A thanksgiving concert arranged by the Masterton Municipal Band is to be given in the Opera House on Sunday evening next. Sunday is set aside as a day of special thanksgiving for the recovery of His Majesty the King, and it is hoped that Masterton people will show their gratitude by remembering the people who have suffered so severely through the recent earthquake. His Worship the Mayor (Mr. T. Jordan) will attend and will make a special appeal, a summary of which the 2YA Broadeasting Station, Wellington, has kindly offered to broadcast from Wellington. It was hoped to have the whole concert broadeast but arrangements could not bo made. The Masterton Picture Company have given the Opera House free. The programme will comprise vocal numbers by some of our best singers, and instrumental music by the Band. _
