Another earthquake shock was felt here at 7 o’clock on Sunday evening. A rather amusing incident befel a well-known person on a sheep station not a hundred miles from Pirinoa a few days ago , when a large Captain Cooker of the very ferocious type invaded the grounds of the owner*-' residence (who by the way is also a well-known person in the locality). All sorts of oevices were tried to remove the intruder but without avail and as a last resource an endeavour was made to drive the animal out, and. with the aid of his dogs the gallant person mounted his trusted steed and set out in pursuit. As soon as the intruder espied the horse—which was a pie-bald.—and its rider, it made a rush and the rider, in endeavouring to avoid the charge of the furious ‘animal, by some unaccountable means fell off his horse. What would have been a tragedy was averted by the timely action of his dog. Bob. who rushed at the infuriated animal and attacked it in the rear, which was the means of diverting the animal’s attention from the unfortunate person, who made all possible haste to the nearest fence. It is stated that the boar was last seen leisurely climbing the hills and occasionally rooting the ground as he went along.
