RIFLE SHOOTING.
MAURICEVILLE COMPETITIONS. (“The Age” Special.) The Mauriceville Defence Rifle Club brought a very pleasant and successful season to a close on Saturday. Following are ths scores in the sixth trophy competition:—
The season’s aggregate off the rifle (Rose Bowl) was won by A. E. Terry, with 509 points. T. Bennet (501 points) was runner-up. In the handicap aggregate, A. E. Terry, with 512 points, took first prize and the Shield; F. Neilsen, with 502 points, was runger-up. Following are season’s range aggregates off the rifle: 300 yards, T. Bennett, 171; 500 yards, A. E. Terry, 177; 600 yards, A. E. Terry, 173. A final triangular competition will be [fired at Alfredton on Saturday next. A team from the club is to compete at the Hastings (Hawke’s Bay) meeting on March 30.
