SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS. (“The Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Dalefield Hockey Club was held on Monday evening, Mr. E. A. Heyder presiding. A vote of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr. W. 8. Gallon. The report and balance- sheet were adopted and the following officers elected:—President, Mr. W. J. Ticehurst; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. A. Ordish, A Sayer, F. Brazendale, W. Saywell, E. Tildesley, A. E. Goodin, and E. Tunnicliffe; social committee, Messrs. L. Gallon, E. A. Heyder, A. H. Smith, J. Todd, C. Wilson, L. Hooper, V. Hodder, C Tildesley, S. Gallon, C. Burgess; selection committee, Messrs. L. Gallon, C. Burgess, W. Bannin; management committee, Messrs. E. Ordish, L. Gallon, 8. Gallon, J. Todd, E. A. Heyder, and the secretary and captain ex officio; delegates to Wairarapa Hockey Association, Messrs. 8. Gallon, J. Todd, 8. Meyrick and the secretary; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. L. Bannin. The subscription and colours will remain the same as last year. Practice will commence on March 30.[ The delegates to the Association were recommended to nominate Mr. C. Burgess as a selector of the representative teams. At a meeting of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge of Oddfellows on Monday evenrug, at Carterton, it was decided not to participate in the ritual competition on this occasion, owing to the chief officers residing and working out of the district. A meeting of the ladies’ commute® for the atmual ball is to be held on March 28, to make preliminary arrangements. Bros. G. Riggs and A Cave were appointed a decoration committee. -One team id to. he entered in the Friendly Societies’ annual seven-a-side football tourney, Bro. K. G. Fairbrother being appointed to make the arrangements.
