PAHLATI’.V EWE FAIR Wright, Stcpln 1 i.iwon and 'Co., Ltd., report* Wo held cur wupplememtary ewe fair at Pahiatu.i yesterday, when we offered an entry of ewes well up to advertised numbers. There was a very good attendance, although there were not a big number of outside buyers present. In quality the yarding was rot up to previous fairs, although 1 h e r o • w CT ILn-—I firs t- class M'S, tua sale held yesterday as follows: A full yarding of sheep came forward and any lines showing quality madie good prices. Buyers were present from (■utside districts, Wanganui, Feilding, Man-awatu, Dannevirke and Ma&terton being well represented. Bidding was consistent throughout the isialc, and only one or two lines failed to reach vendors* values. Mr Frank White's 4- 6-th and 4|ycar ewes realised the satisfactoiy figure of 29s 3d. We quote: 2 th wethers, 26s to 26s 6d; m.a. ewes, 16s, 17s 3d to 18s 9d; 4-year and 5- ewes, 15s, 19s 9d, 245, 24s 3d, 25s Id to 29s 3d; 2-th ewes, 235, 28s 2d to 29s 7d; B.D. rams, Ifgns to 3£gns.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on the Pahiatua sale, which was held as a combined supplementary ewe and sheep sale: Our offc-niuig comprised a little over 4000 head. Buyers were present from Southern Hawke's Bay and West Coast distrietis, and with the exception of 350 2-tooth wethers and a lino of 150 aged ewes, we report a clearnce at prices equal to recent- sales values. A nice line of 4-year ewes sold on account of Mr H. Maison, Pori, topped the market at 31s 6d. Other good sales were on account of R. B. Robertson and T. Ruskell, whose 4-year ewes realised 28s 7d. to 29s and 29s 4d respectively. The following list wilt indicate values: Account H. T. Kelsey, 78 4-tooth to 4-year ewes, 27s 3d; 46 2-tooth ewes, 345.
