FURRED SKIN SALE.

The New Zealand' Loan and tile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—4 The sixth monthly sale of the season was held in Wellington on Friday, when a large catalogue of all grades of opossum skins and rabbitskins was submitted to a full representation of exporters, furriers, southern buyers and the local trade.

Rabbitskins.—Competition was exceptionally keen for all grades, and. ft' is pleasing to report that prices generally were on a par with last Southern sales. Winter sorts showed a good advance, bucks being a penny to threepence a pound higher, while does were also a shade dearer. Low grades, in sympathy with the London sales, showed an advance of a penny to twopence per pound. The following is the range of prices for well stretched and well got-up skins:—Runners 3<Bd to 40d, summers and springs 34d to 51d, light racks 42jd to 47|d, prime racks 45$d to 4‘7id, early autumns 53d to 62%d f dawny autumns 50|d to 51|d, late autumns 62|d to 7GJd, autumns 65d, milky does 33id to 48£d, hareskins 66|d to 68d, fawns 90d to 116 d, spotted winters 74id to 98£d, incomings 84d to 95|d, outgoings 52d to 75|d, late winters lOld to 105 id, early winters 106 d to Hid, prime bucks 123 d t 6 13fi|d, prime does 148 d to 154fd, first bucks 116 d to 122 d, first does 140|d to 145 d, prime blacks 131 d to 136 id, winter blacks 115 d to 126 ck

Opossum Skins.— There was a keen demand for all grades and as compared with the southern sales held last month prices were a shilling tp< one and sixpence better for the top grades of blues and greys. Trappers who were fortunate in having skins in this sale must be very pleased with the price® secured and we anticipate a big offering at our next sale, to be held on September 6. Top prices were only secured for carefully stretched, clear pelted and well furred skins. The following is the range of prices:—Super blues, 17/2 to 18/6; first blue, 14/8 to 15/-; blues, 8/6 to 10/6; super greys, 15/6 to .16/2; first greys, 11/11 to 15/6; greys, 9/5 to 12/-; super blacks, 14/5 to 15/-; first blacks, 12/1 to 13/-; blacks, 7/6 to 9/3; super browns to 12/-; first browns, 9/- to> 10/3; browns, 5/10 to 8/-; first reds, 7/- to 9/1; reds 5/- to €/7; super rustys, 11/- to 12/-; first rustys, 9/10 to 11/3; rustys, 6/3 to 8/6; firs® red, 9/7 to 10/-; red necks, 5/10 to 8/3. Smalls,jkittens, damaged and inferior skins sold at correspondingly lower prices.
