THE MASTERTON ORCHESTRA

The attractive programme for the Orchestra! Concert for Wednesday next is advertised in thi® issue. The Masterton Orchestra will be assisted by Mis-s E. Ralph, who. made a musical reputation in the local production of “The Sunshine Girl.” Mr. F. G. Bourke, whose illness prevented his appearance at the last concert, is sure of a hearty welcome. The Ma-sterton West School Choir, which is going south for the Competitions, will render two items. Mr. F. M. Pinfold has brought his group of children to a degree of musical efficiency that i.s’ expected to please the audience, for seldom is sweeter music heard than that of children's voices.

The Orchestra will play some old favourites, ink addition to musical gems new to the Mas-tertoa. concert platform. By special request Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto in G Minor, will be repeated, with Miss L. E. Hall A.T.C.L., as soloist. The Masterton Orchestra dfserve wfll of the lovers of good music. Mr. Jehn Noble, his band of players and an enthusiastic committee, all give their services gratitiousiy, but, new music is essential, the cost of practice room, lighting, etc., is a recurring expense, and the Opera House should be quite full on Wednesday night next for what promises to. be a really good concert. The popular prices of 3s, 2s and Is are being charged, and the seats may be reserved at the Arts and Crafts..
