GRADING OF CREAM.

A TEST CASE. FACTORY MANAGER PROSECUTED WOODVILLE, June 14. A test ease of interest to the dairy Industry was heard before Mr S. L. P. Free, S.M., to-day when J. W. Smith, dairy inspector, brought an action against J. Swede, manager of the United Company’s Dairy Factory for not grading cream according to the general regulations under tho Dairy Industries Act. The prosecution contended that defendant was grading higher than was warranted. After lengthy evidence tho Magistrate reserved his decision. The defence argued that the grading was fair and reasonable and that the Department based the case on the fact that grading was done more than three hours after the cream arrived at the factory.—(P.A.).
