NEW CRUSHING PLANT.

FOB COUNTY COUNCIL. ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN • MACHINES. The Masterton County Council yes-1 terday decided to proceed with the proposal to install a new electricallydriven crushing plant at Te Ore Ore. Mr Sladden (of Messrs Seaton, Sladden and Pavitt, engineers to the county) Submitted a lengthy report on crushing plants, and recommendations as to a ■ui table machine. Cauneillorr G. Moore moved that the •ouncil proceed with the proposal. He Was of the opinion that the maintenance costs of the present crusher would practically pay interest on the new plant. The engineer had pointed out that the quality of metal had not ueen too good in the past from the present machine. The motion was seconded by Councillor H. H. Mawley, who agreed that the council would have money on the proposal. After a general discussion the motion Was agreed to. The estimated cost of the new plant Is £B5Bl. A jaw crusher and Heckler crusher will be provided, driven by electric motors of 25 and 30 horse power. The plant will be capable of Crushing 70 yards of metal per day, land will be located at the Ruamahanga Biver, Te Ore Ore. It is intended to have the machine installed as soon as possible.
