HOSPITAL AFFAIRS.

CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETING. Hie monthly meeting of the Central Committee of the Wairarapa Hospital Board was held yesterday, Mr W. Fisher presiding. There were also present: Messrs E. G. Eton (ex-officio), S. Bolton, J. C. Ewington, T. V. Moore, H. H. Mawley, A. Clark, and C. T. Richardson. The treasurer reported as follows: General account in credit £2763 19s Id, and special funds deposited in the Post Office Savings Bank, £2488 0s 9d. The receipts for May included: Treasury advance on account of subsidy, £2900, levies from local contributory bodies, £797 Is Id, rents £2l 13s 4d; patients’ fees, Masterton Hospital £230 12s; Greytown Hospital, £95 16s Bd, Pahiatua Hospital, £172 6s 6d; old age pensions, Buchanan Home £7O Ils Bd, Solway Home £lB 19s 2d. Accounts totalling £2870 14s Id were passed for payment. The following return relative to the patients under treatment during the month in the various institutions, was submitted to the meeting: Masterton Hospital, admissions 92, discharges 71, deaths 6, remaining at end of the month 87; Greytown Hospital, 37, 23, 0, 25; Buchanan Home 2,1, 0, 29; Pahiatua Hospital, 29, 25, 2, 15; Solway Home 10, 2,0, 12. The daily average number of patients domiciled in the various institutions was: Masterton Hospital 81, Greytown Hospital 16.6, Buchanan Home 29, Pahiatua Hospital 15. • There was also a daily average of 11 inmates in the Solway Home, making a daily total of 152.6.
