To-morrow evening, a concert organised by Mrs W. Sorenson will be given in the Tivoli Theatre, Carterton, under the auspices of St. Mark's Church. Items will be given by a number promising vocalists, also juvenile performers. Amateurs from other towns will be assisting, including a party of Natives from Master ton, who will give an. exhibition of Poi dancing. Prices of admission are 2s and Is respectively, and seats may be reserved at Mr A. Phillpotts without extra charge. Savage Club. At the Carterton Savage Club's KoTero on Saturday evening, Mr F. W. Vosseler, of Wellington, gave an interesting lecture, illustrated iby lantern slides, on a trip in the North Wand and Southern Alps. 1 Personal. Mr R. B. Hill, who was injured on i the Tararua ranges during the search’ for the missing youths, Scanlon and Deiderich, has returned to his home in Wellington. Line Interruption. On Friday last, the Wairarapa Power Board's Kourarau electric power line interfered with. An investigation revealed that the trouble was | due to a stone at the end of a long • | piece of light copper wire having been apparently thrown on the line in tho vicinity of the East Taratahi School. FEATHERSTON. {“The Age" Special). Miss K. Merlet has returned .to Palmerston North. Miss Blanche Vincent spent the week-end in Wellington. Mr M. Barry (Shannon), has been spending a few days in Featherston. Mr Keith Bicknell (Huntly), who was formerly on the staff of the Featherston Post Office, is visiting relatives in the Wairarapa. Mr G. Smith (Kaiwaiwai) spent the week-end in Wellington. Miss A. Patterson, of the Featherston District High School, who has been on a holiday visit to England, sailed for England last Friday. She will recommence her duties early in August. Meetings. Mr J. Card will give an address on golf etiquette at a general meeting of the Featherston Golf Club, which will be held to-night. Arrangements will also be made for the annual ball. A meeting of the Featherston branch of the Plunket Society will be held this afternoon to make arrangements for the ball proposed to be held this year. Successful Shop Day. The shop day, held by St. John's Ladies' Guild to raise funds for a piano for the Parish Hall, was a marked success. The stall holders were as follows: Cake: Mesdames H. Cundy, G. Nelson, R.
