WELLINGTON, April 22. The 1927 Dominion draughts championship was won by J. Gardiner, of Nelson. This is his fourth win of the title. Boreham (also four times champion) and G. A. Brown (Christchurch) tied for second place in games, but under the points system operating, Boreham is awarded second place with 191 1-8 points against Brown’s 179} points. The final championship points are:—J. Gardiner (Nelson), 26}; J. Boreham (Otago), 254; A - Brown (Christchurch), 25}; R. Bolting (Dunedin), 234; J. Leggatt, 20}; W. B. Rendall (Dunedin), 20}; E. Gibbard (Dunedin), 18; F. Hutchins (Invercargill), 17; H. Morris (Southland), 17; R. Craig (Otago), 15}; C. Millington (Christchurch) 13; J. Bruce (New Plymouth) 12; J. Shadbolt (Waikare), 11; G. Davy (New Plymouth), 9}; J. Costello (Wellington), 8; A. Lyon (Marton), 6}; W. H. Brown (Marton), 2}. One game to-day, between Boreham and Gibbard, lasted over six hours, and required over 200 moves before Boreham won.—(P.A.)
