A SERIOUS CASE. CHRISTCHURCH, April 21. George Cecil Nield pleaded guilty, today to having received £lOO and failed to account for it to Thomas Mcßae Clark, Ashburton. Nield was commit ted to the Supremo Court for sentence. Nield’s statement showed that he was heavily involved in transactions con corning insurance shares. He said that the tr.ouble was caused by paying out profits to clients that had never been earned. By one transaction he was £3OOO in debt. He came to New Zealand from England three years ago. The Magistrate• said that the accused’s statement showed that he had defrauded people of thousands of pounds.—(P.A) ,
