CLEARING SALES. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Masterton, report having held a successful clearing sale on acoount of Mr Frank Preston, Belvedere (who has sold his property), on August 9. The c.ows, which came forward in rather poor condition, sold will up to the ruling prices, running from £5 10/ io £-/; springing heifers, £2 5/ to £5 10/; draught mare, £27; spring-carter, £6 10/; breeding sows, £3 to £6 10/. The farm sundries also realised satisfactory prices. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association Ltd. (Stock Department), report having held a very successful clearing sale of dairy cows on account of Mr T. H. Tully, Dry River. The cows, which came forward in fair condition, were principally Jersey or Jersey cross, and met with keen competition from a good attendance of buyers. The top price of the sale was £l4, and a .a.qe number at from £9 to £l3 10/, the whole herd of 80 cows making the very satisfactory average of £9 per head. MASTERTON SALE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on the Masterton sale held yesterday, as follows: A medium entry of sheep was submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was very slack, and a dull sale resulted. The yarding was disposed of at t:.e following 4-th wethers, 23/6; b.f. 2-ths, 21/4; maiden ewes, 20/; empty ewes, 15/6; b.f. Imbs, 13/2 and 9/9; fat wether, 24/; cull ewes, 9/6.
