LINCOLN SHEEPBREEDERS.
ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. INCREASING DEMAND FOR THE BREED. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Lincoln Sheepbreeders ’ Association was held in Masterton yesterday, Mr W. Perry presiding. The annual report, which was adopted, stated that after a few years in which the demand for Lincolns was small, it was pleasing to note that inquiry for the right type of Lincoln was increasing. The export trade witji the Argentine had been well maintained, and last year 63 rams and 10 ewes were sold to Argentine buyers. A few Lincolns had also been exported to. South Africa and Western Australia. Speaking to the report the chairman stated that while the export trade had expanded, the local demand was disappointing. From his observations, he was pleased to state that breeders had been paying more attention to the production of a better quality of wool. Officers were elected as * follows: President, Mr W. Perry (Masterton); vice-president, Mr R. Bremer (Waverley); council, Messrs A. D. McMaster (Featherston), A. E. Anderson (Clareville), Mr H. R. Poole (Pongaroa); treasurer, Mr D. McGregor (Gladstone). Mr G. W. Sellar was re-appointed auditor.
